Damien Myers MD, MPH is the Chief Operations Officer for Project Pneuma. The mission of Project Pneuma is to Breathe New Life holistically into the young men we serve by challenging them intellectually, strengthening them physically, nurturing them emotionally and uplifting them spiritually.
Dr. Myers is also the Community Organizer for BMe Baltimore. BMe is a national organization comprised of an award-winning network of community – builders known for defining people by their positive contributions to society and by helping to build health, wealth, hope, and opportunity in urban communities.
Dr. Myers has degrees from Morehouse College (BS, Biology), the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MPH in Epidemiology), and the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine (MD). In 2010 Dr. Myers left clinical medicine to devote 100% of his time cultivating the next generation of Black health care professionals. In 2014 he was awarded the BMe Community Genius Award for his efforts to increase diversity in the medical pipeline.
He was honored with a 2016 Elijah Saunders, MD Trailblazer Award for his efforts to decrease health care disparities in urban communities. Dr. Myers also received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award in 2016 for his service to residents of Baltimore City.
